Summer programme by weeks, continents and occupations:

2 July – 6 July Europe: doctor/chemist/teacher

Our journey through the world of occupations starts in Europe. What professions do we know here? For instance a doctor – we will make a stethoscope, headband and coat and we will model a pill out of clay. We will do experiments as a chemist, but don’t worry, the colours we will use for the experiments definitely won’t explode. Nevertheless, we will talk how to “work” safely. And to find out how does it feel like to be a teacher, we will create with letters, work with books and we will make our own class register.

9 July – 13 July Asia: rickshaw/geisha/sherpa

We arrive to Asia and not to walk all way long, we will hire a rickshaw. We will make a bicycle and organize a rickshaw race. On our way, we meet a beautiful and mysterious geisha with a gorgeous fan and we will make one, too. We will listen to Japanese music and try writing Japanese signs. We will build origami and then we have to go further – to the mountains to meet sherpas. Each proper sherpa must be not only powerful, he must also know tracks and navigate, so also we will play navigators. Finally, sherpa will walk us to the borders of Asia and we will move to another week to be spent in the North America.

16 July – 20 July North America: director/director of photography/photographer

We find ourselves at Broadway and a casting us just ongoing. We become directors and actors and since we were born to play, the casting comes off amazingly and we are going to play a drama. A director of photography must not miss his shot, and we´ll do our best to play our roles. But attention! If we hear „STOP“, we have to stay still at once. The only person who may move is the photographer, as he continues shooting. So we all try photo shooting. Finally, we will make own portrait and we can go further – to the next week – to the South America.

23 July – 27 July South America: coffee picker/Brazilian dancer

It’s time for a coffee and there is sooo cosy café right around the corner, so we all order a coffee (don’t worry, it will be decaf). However, we will not only drink the coffee, we will make pieces of art out of coffee beans, we will draw in foam and bake some goodies. And since we rested so well, it’s time to head off to Rio for carnival! So we make costumes, fancy headbands, put on makeup and dance samba. In the rhythm of samba, we will dance till the end of the week and we will get closer to Oceania...

30 July – 3 August Oceania: sailor/diver/pearl-diver

Bring swim fins, snorkel and diving mask! If you don’t have the mask, don’t worry, we will make it. But divers must know how to breathe properly, so we will exercise yoga. When we have the mask, breathe properly, we can go under water where we will meet an amazing octopus made by us and we will surely find some pearls! We will surface and become sailors looking for a land with our field glasses made by us – finally we can see a lighthouse! We are getting to the shores of Africa...

6 August – 10 August Africa: archaeologist/gold panner/shaman

Passing pyramids, we are coming to an archaeological site with some finds. But who is coming from a distance? A mummy! We are running away and going rather to pan some gold. And since we will surely find a lot of gold we have to make a purse for all our wealth. When we have found all the gold, let’s see an indigenous village and visit a shaman who will teach us few magic formulas. Naturally, we need to record all the knowledge, so we will make a book of magic formulas, a herbarium and finally also a rain stick, but we are not going to call rain – yet ;) Because we are heading to Australia and we need sunny weather.

13 August – 17 August Australia: wool cutter/lifeguard/miner

Down under, we will go to the ocean to a beach where we will become lifeguards. Therefore we will talk about first aid, assemble a first aid box, make a life ring and organize a sport training of lifeguards. From the ocean waves we will move to sheep wool. We will make something by felting and make a competition in wool cutting. But since we are in Australia, we must not forget that it is a land where you find a gold vein so we will roll down a bit to the pit to look for a treasure. We will definitely find it! And when we have the treasure, we may go further – to Antarctica.

20 August – 24 August Antarctica: fisherman/polar explorer/dog sleigh racer

Pack up your things properly not to freeze, we’re heading to the pole! We will try being a polar explorer, we will make polar glasses to look round well at the pole. We will make the white ice land more colourful, we will dye the ice and do some experiments with ice and water. But now we need to catch something to eat. So we become fishermen, we will make rods and let’s go fishing! A dog sleigh goes around us, so we will try to organize a race, too.

27 August – 31 August Space: astronaut/meteorologist/designer

In the last week, we will head off to the stars! We are astronauts, so we will make a spacesuit, a rocket and we will see planets closely. And we will really see the planets closely because a mobile planetarium will come to visit us. When we learned something about the space, we will try to forecast weather on the Earth and we will make a thermometer to verify if our forecast was right.

Summer programme by weeks, continents and occupations:

9 – 13 July Asia: robot manufacturer/geisha/rice grower/farmer

Our summer starts in Asia – a land of robots and rice fields, beautiful and mysterious geishas, places where paper started to be produced. So we will produce paper as well. During our trip in the Museum of Agriculture we will learn, what it is all about to work in agriculture. In Bambíno, we will create our robot but we will also make shoes for geisha. And since we must not forget the tastes of Asia, we will cook something of rice and eat it – how else than with sticks. Then we will board a plane to head to the North America.

16 – 20 July North America: actor/architect/fashion designer/director of photography

North America – a continent of skyscrapers, glory, movies and stars. That’s why we’ll also try to design and erect the most amazing skyscraper, make a clapperboard, make an original fashion accessory, and organize a fashion show to be able to appreciate all the designs. And what will be our trip destination? Nothing else than the Barrandov Ateliers to have a really close look at movie! But the week is getting to its end and we are heading south.

23 – 27 July South America: pirate/ecologist/football player/coffee picker

What does have almost everyone associated with South America? Rio Carnival, football, coffee, and rain forests! Therefore we will organize a carnival also in Bambíno and our masks will be so gorgeous that they will be green with envy in Rio. We will play a football match and from sports, we will move to rain forests to become ecologists. After all, we will become more familiar with ecology during our trip to Toulcův Dvůr. After the long way, we will need some coffee – but don’t worry, we are not going to drink it, we will make a piece of art out of it ;) And we will also become pirates who will have to build their own boat to sail to Oceania.

30 July – 3 August Oceania: pearl-diver/sailor/diver

Don’t forget snorkel and swim fins! We are sailing to Oceania. We will organize diving contest and definitely find some pearls! From the last-week pirates, we will change to sailors – and every true sailor must be able to tie clove hitches, so we will learn it, too. We will make a helm and a field glass to see a land. And the land we can see in the distance and where we will sail via a stop at our trip to the harbour in Prague, is Africa. So ahooooy!

6 – 10 August Africa: archaeologist/hunter/drummer

Africa – the land of pyramids but also of indigenous villages and hunters. We will head off to an adventurous expedition and we will look for archaeological finds. As proper archaeologists, we will have to establish an archaeological logbook to record all logs of our precious finds and their history. We will learn something about sewerage in ancient Egypt and to have a better idea, we will have a trip to the old waste water treatment plant in Bubeneč. From archaeology and history, we will move also to hunting. And when we are hunters, we will definitely need also bows, arrows and targets. But who is meeting us on the road? Drummers! So let’s put our weapons away, let’s immerse to the whirl of drums and compose our own composition. But the week is over and it’s time to head off to Australia.

13 – 17 August Australia: lifeguard/surfer/miner/wool cutter

At our visit to antipodes, we will set out on the waves as true surfers. We will go to Střelecký island (that is a tiny island that cannot be even compared with a continent like Australia but it is surrounded by water, too) and there we will try how it feels like to be a lifeguard and we will learn how to give first aid. From the ocean waves we will move to sheep wool and we will do some creations out of it. And since we are in Australia, a land of gold panners, we will roll down a bit to the pit to look for a gold vein. But we need to watch our heads not to let anything fall on them, so we will make a miner’s helmet. And where to go further? To Antarctica!

20 – 24 August Antarctica: polar explorer/fisherman/Husky breeder

Pack up your things properly not to freeze, because we’re heading to the pole! We will try being a polar explorer, we will make polar glasses to look round well at the pole. We will make the ice world more colourful and we will dye the ice to do some experiments with it. Ice is melting to water, so we will go to Gutovka to the water world. We will become fishermen, we will make rods and organize fishing contest! We won’t erect an ice igloo in the summer, but we can pitch a tent! We will watch stars and move to another week.

27 – 31 August Space: rocket designer/astronaut/meteorologist

And in the last week, we will turn to the stars! Because we are astronauts. To be able to head off to the stars and discover our galaxy, we will make a space rocket and a model of the solar system. We will take a close look at the space also during our trip to Prague Planetarium. After our return to the Earth, we will try to be astrologists and meteorologists so this time the weather forecast can be given by us. 
